Teletext’s business has transitioned significantly over the past decade. It has moved away from the traditional news and information service it once provided and now has a number of commercial businesses including Teletext Holidays, Teletext Cars, Teletext Games, and various services for mobile phones. Along with the business realignments, the organisation’s information management requirements have also changed, however they were still using a NetBackup solution that had been deployed around ten years earlier. The legacy system was no longer fit for purpose, it was not working adequately and it did not support the new Microsoft Exchange package they were going to implement without a costly and complex upgrade. Teletext needed to update its back-up system with high quality, yet cost-effective solution that could support new technologies now and in the future.

It was chosen for a host of reasons; CommVault offers a cost-effective, reliable platform with easy day to day management. It also supports Microsoft Exchange excellently. Furthermore, the solution can be used to protect virtual machine environments so Teletext can easily migrate their services to virtual environments in the future.
It took a total of three days for Frontier to implement the data management solution, immediately afterward Teletext realised the benefits and migrated their systems to the latest version of Microsoft Exchange. As part of the service, Frontier provided Teletext with on-going support and is available 24/7 as they migrated their systems to the new platform.
